Great News!

First the best news--today I celebrated nine years--yes, count them, nine years!!!--of being cancer free (breast cancer)! It is a glorious feeling and GOD is GREAT!!!

Now, on to more good news...
Two of my paintings were chosen for the 2010 "Winter's Garden" exhibit at the Riverfront Art Center in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. The opening "Garden Party" reception is this Friday evening from 5-7 pm. If you live in the area, stop on by. It is a wonderful venue and always a beautiful show--gorgeous floral paintings and real orchid plants all on display. What a wonderful escape!

"The Garden of Life"

20" x 24" acrylic on canvas
$600 framed

This painting was from plein air studies I painted of the individual flowers. I named it the Garden of Life because the yellow flowers (Heliopsis) represent sunshine and happiness--be happy every day. Cosmos (pink flowers) always look like they are reaching, hence; reach for the sky and be the best that you can be. The day lilies were chosen because they are only open for one day; lesson there: make the most of every day and make it count!

8" x 6" acrylic on panel
$100 framed

This painting is pretty subdued compared to my usual palette, but it is all about trying new things and new color schemes. I will repost this photo as the this one was taken on the quick.

thanks for visiting and have a great day!

btw: be sure to check the "girls" each month, it could save your life...it did mine.

Nancy, I so enjoyed seeing your "Garden of Life" at the Riverfront Art Center exhibit in Stevens Point. It is definitely a show-stopper and certainly attracts your attention as you enter the art center. Fabulous use of color.

Thank you so much Sharon. It was great to see you, and your lily piece at the exhibit, too.
