Distractions

While cutting up watermelon for my family's lunch one day, I was struck by the lighting and colors of the watermelon. The impulsive, artistic urge struck (oops, distraction) and lunch became postponed while I set up a watermelon still life and proceeded to paint. Sometimes a distraction can work in your favor.

Hilarious, Nancy!! Happens at our house on a daily basis. I'm having to beat with a stick to leave my blackberries alone, I need a sunny day:) Beautiful painting--and I have a few slices of watermelon that we had last night reserved for a still life:)
